The First Annual Taos Solar MusicFest Band Search Contest
is officially over!
Congratulations to Anthony Leon & The Chain
for receiving over 500 votes on our Facebook voting page.
Coming in second and third respectively were:
The Imperial Rooster
Stephanie Hatfield and Hot Mess
In addition to the $1000.00 cash prize,
Anthony Leon & The Chain will be performing
on the main stage at this year’s
Taos Solar Music Festival on Saturday June 30th at 11:30,
on the solar stage at 5:00 PM and once more
at 3:00 PM on the solar stage on Sunday.
I would like to personally thank all of the entrants
and all of the finalists.
Although the band search contest was a success,
it was not without a few glitches.
We have learned a lot about the process,
and will make sure to take this into account when we run next year’s competition.
You (the public) has given us a few suggestions and we we will take them all into account when embark on next year’s contest.
We would like to extend a huge thank you
to the following bands who entered the competition.
It is comforting to know that even in a large,
lightly populated state like New Mexico,
there is still a plethora of talented artists.
All of these artists have given their time and energy
in an attempt to be part of something universal…
MUSIC!
Hope to see you all again next year.
